Story Writing

The world thinks, breathes and lives stories.

Learning how to craft an engaging and exciting story is a way to capture people's hearts and minds, and a way to get your ideas and messages out into the world.

Come along to this three-day course at the British Library to learn how to design written worlds from scratch, how to develop engaging narratives, and how to skilfully draw images in writing, all whilst ensuring you keep your readers hooked with their mental cogs whirring.

We will cover topics such as character writing, scene setting and narrative structure, and will write a range of short stories.

What you learn will give you a good foundation for writing a novel, if that is your calling.

Sign up, take a leap and discover the power of the best tool on the planet - your imagination.

Those attending will also get to visit the British Library's exhibitions, including - Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music, for inspiration.
