Directing Actors for the Screen


Directing actors is an essential skill if you want to make your own short films. As a director, how do you convey your ideas and work with actors to achieve your vision?

This course will take you through the fundamental techniques for working with actors and teach you how to communicate and collaborate more successfully.

During the week you gain a better understanding of the actor/director relationship exploring the importance of understanding the story and the character's objectives, develop techniques for stimulating an actor's imagination and bringing a character to life, build trust in the actor/director relationship, learn how to utilise the actor's toolbox.

You will direct and be directed by your peers, gaining first-hand experience and feedback on your work.

For your final project you will be working with professional actors.
