Spoken Word
Spoken Word poetry is exciting, bold and demands your attention. It is a way for you to tell your stories and use performance to move people with your words.
On this three-day course, you will learn the craft of writing spoken word, and of building a world out of verbal images and real emotions. Then, you will get your pieces performance-ready, learning where to pause, which words to stress, what to do to pack an emotional punch and move people.
Once finished you will be ready to take to any stage and will have polished pieces ready to upload to your social media.
Those attending will also get to visit the British Library's exhibition, - Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music, and write a poem based on what they learn.
And there will be an opportunity to share your poems in front of an audience at the Camden Summer University end of summer show, which will be held in the auditorium of the British Museum on Friday 23 August.
Sign up to this course and get ready to take to the stage to share your poetry - the world is ready to listen!
